Voter Registration

For primary, special, municipal and general elections

Pennsylvania

To be eligible to register to vote you must be:

  • A citizen of the United States for at least one month before the next election.
  • A resident of Pennsylvania and the election district in which you desire to register and vote for at least 30 days before the next election.
  • At least 18 years of age on or before the day of the next election.

There are three ways to register to vote:

  • In person.  You may register at many government agencies or at a County Voter Registration Office.
  • By mail. You may pick up a mail application at many government agencies or download one from www.dos.state.pa.us/voting.
  • Through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation when renewing your driver's license.

New Jersey

To be eligible to register to vote you must be:

  • A citizen of the United States.
  • At least 18 years of age by the next election.
  • A resident of the county in which you wish to register and vote for at least 30 days before the next election.
  • The registration deadline to vote is 21 days prior to the next election.

The ways to register to vote in New Jersey are:

  • In person.  You may apply to vote at the office of your Municipal Clerk, various state agencies including the Division of Motor Vehicles and your local Division of Elections office.
  • By mail.  A registration application can be printed off of www.nj.gov/lps/elections/voter-registration-application.html and mailed to the Commissioners of Registration office in your county.

Delaware

To be eligible to register to vote you must be:

  • A citizen of the United States.
  • A resident of Delaware (proof required).
  • At least 18 years of age by the next election.
  • Mentally competent.

There are many ways to register to vote in Delaware:

  • By mail.  For New Castle County residents visit electionsncc.delaware.gov to download an application.
  • By phone.  Call the Department of Elections at 302-577-3464.
  • In person.  You can register at the Department of Elections office, the Division of Motor Vehicles, the Department of Health & Social Services or the Department of Labor.
  • Online.  You can register to vote online at registertovote.elections.delaware.gov.
